Lesser Known Monsters of the 21st Century

The first story is worth reading over and over again. So much is packed in this one conversation.  It made me laugh and tear up. (Without giving too much away, let’s just say it serves as a good reminder to call your mom.) 

The other stories didn't hit me quite the same way and none of them captured the emotional feelings for me like the first story (sadness, nostalgia, regret, warmth, and empathy) or make me laugh out loud... but they were still quite vivid and memorable. And the stories do switch seamlessly from scifi to fantasy which is impressive. The author is skilled at both genres. 

It’s one of the better short story collections I've attempted and got me interested in reading Fu’s other work.
