The God of the Woods

It took a while for me to get invested in this book, but then I couldn't get enough. It's an excellent mystery that also juxtaposes the lives of the haves and have-nots. And how the former will also do what's in their own interest, loyalty, integrity, and the truth be damned. 

I did end up wanting to hear more about the mother and how she fared after the mystery was unraveled. She had her faults and others called her her "pitiable", but I had a bit more tenderness towards her than just that.
