Crux

So, so good. We saw Tallent speak about this book while on his tour promoting it, and he explained that it actually started as an entirely different book, many hundreds of pages long, about the same characters as adults. He was struggling with that book, and eventually decided he needed to understand for himself how those adult characters came to be who they are, he needed to understand their childhoods - so then he wrote this book. I love that.

This was spectacular. I loved it. I love his characters, they'll stick with me for a while.
