I Have Some Questions for You
By Rebecca MakkaiOne of the best books I’ve read in ages. Content, style, voice, pacing, characters, social awareness, and on and on. This is the book I’ll give as a gift many times over.

Margot Mertz Takes It Down
By Carrie McCrossen and Ian McWethySpoiler Warning. I definitely spoil the heck out of the book, so please read this only if you want to know major details about the end of the book.
Seriously. Major. Spoilers.
I mean it. Skip to the next review until you’re done.
Ok. I hate spoilers so I had to make good and sure that I was clear
The Ivory Key
By Akshaya RamanFor my personal tastes, this book took awhile to get moving. Once the quest began, however, I really enjoyed the pacing, the characterization, and creativity. I’m looking forward to the inevitable sequel.
Death in the Jungle
Murder, Betrayal, and the Lost Dream of Jonestown
By Candace FlemingSo far, I love this book but can only read about 25 pages at a time before I get so upset. Like Fleming wrote, he was a racist anti-racist. So there are parts of him that read as really valuable. But he's also a terrible, racist, sexist, megalomaniac. I think I'll switch to audiobook because I struggle to turn the pages when I keep getting so angry. A great and terrible book, this.
